Planning applications must be submitted in-person by appointment only. Incomplete applications may be rejected. Mailed-in applications are not accepted and will be returned. The Town does not consider electronically submitted materials to be a formal submittal and therefore review under the Permit Streamlining Act would not begin until hard copies are received.
Major applications and resubmittals are accepted in-person on Wednesdays between 2:30PM to 5:30PM. Examples of Major applications include Conditional Use Permits, Site Plan Reviews, Parcel/Tract Maps, Land Use Compliance Reviews, Development Code Amendments, General Plan Amendments, Variances, Planned Developments, and Specific Plans.
Minor applications are accepted in-person on Tuesday through Thursday between 7:30AM to 9:30AM and between 1:30PM to 3:00PM. Examples of Minor applications include Commercial Exterior Color Change, Home Occupation, Lot Line Adjustment, Lot Merger, Sign Permit, Temporary Short Term Vacation Rental, and Temporary Use Permits.

Conditional Use Permit | A Conditional Use Permit (CUP) is required for certain land uses which may be subject to special conditions to ensure compatibility with surrounding land uses and to minimize or eliminate impacts on surrounding properties. These projects are specified under "Use Classifications" for each specific land use district. To be approved, a CUP must be consistent with the adopted General Plan, the Development Code( except approved Variances) any Specific Plans and other local, state and federal regulations. |

Development Code Amendment | The Development Code is an official document of the Town of Yucca Valley which contains regulations, process, and procedures as related to land design, division of land, land uses, design standards, and other regulations related to development. Any development, use of land, or division proposed must be in conformance with regulations and procedures set forth in the Development Code. Development Review Committee | The intent of the Development Review Committee is to provide preliminary information to the applicant on Town requirements. A Short‐Term Vacation Rental permit request is to allow the short‐term rental of single‐family dwelling unit and to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations contained within the Town’s Development Code. |

Specific Plan | A Specific Plan is a tool for the systematic implementation of the General Plan. It establishes a link between implementing policies of the General Plan and the individual development proposals for a defined area.
