On November 5,  2024 Yucca Valley voters overwhelmingly approved the reauthorization of the Town of Yucca Valley’s existing ½ cent sales tax measures known as Measure Y and Measure Z with over 82% approval. The reauthorization did not increase existing tax rates yet will continue to fund essential local needs.

Since approved by voters in 2016, Measure Y has provided additional public safety services as the community’s foremost fiscal priority. Additional public safety positions, including a new scent detection K9, have allowed the Town to uphold expected public safety services. Many of the Town’s roadways have been maintained thanks to Measure Y funding as well as the completion of various local park improvement projects. Quality of life programming will continue to be the gem of Measure Y with support to our Senior Center activities, and community partnerships.

Thanks to local voter support, Measure Z will also continue to assist property owners and residents by reducing the cost of sewer assessments. Since 2016, property owners have seen an approximate 50% savings in annual assessments due to Measure Z.
