Welcome to Yucca Valley — a clear and cool high desert community situated on the northern border of the Joshua Tree National Park. At a 3300 foot elevation, Yucca Valley residents enjoy more moderate temperatures than their neighbors down the road in the Coachella Valley resort communities. If you take a liking to natural features like clean air, open space and starry nights, it’s worth a visit to discover the unique charm and hometown feeling of Yucca Valley.

Yucca Valley truly is way out in the middle of …everywhere! Far enough away from Southern California’s urban sprawl, the town is within a short drive to the state’s favorite vacation spots. Weekenders heading for Laughlin and the other Colorado River destinations make Yucca Valley their last stop for fuel and dinner. Locals know that the Big Bear mountain resorts and south coast beaches are less than a half tank of gas away. And it seems like just a chip shot to the 100+ golf courses, and shopping and dining experiences in the Palm Springs area cities.

But staying home is a pretty good choice too. The endless hiking, camping, climbing and equestrian opportunities make the outdoors a way of life in Yucca Valley. With more than 320 days each year of sunny skies and clear nights, residents and visitors find plenty of time to enjoy nature walks, stargazing, and participating in a variety of special events in Yucca Valley and its neighboring communities.

Yucca Valley is a growing community, but its rural character is highly valued among residents and civic leaders. We know we’ve got something special, and we invite you to check it out. Come for a visit or stay for a while, we know you’ll be glad you discovered Yucca Valley!
