Resident participation in Keep Yucca Valley Safe & Clean allows the Town to determine the most important priorities within our community.

We are committed to ensuring Yucca Valley remains an affordable community for all our residents well into the future. By doing so, we can address homelessness, growing infrastructure needs, and continue providing Town services to maintain the quality of life enjoyed by residents.

Residents identified the following priorities in a recent community survey:

Maintain fire protection and emergency medical services.
Maintain law enforcement and crime prevention services.
Maintain and repair local streets, sidewalks, and infrastructure.
Reduce, limit, and regulate short-term rentals.
Facilitate the development of more housing in Yucca Valley, including housing
that is affordable for low and middle-income households.

Q: What is the Issue?

A: Two of Yucca Valley’s current voter-approved local funds expire soon. Without these local funds, the Town may be forced to cut essential local services, and residents may pay full costs for their sewer assessment.

In 2016, voters approved a general-purpose sales tax to address our community’s growing needs and essential Town services, including pothole, street, and road repair; public safety; and quality of life services. Voters also approved the Special Sales Tax to Reduce Sewer Service Fees Measure, which subsidizes sewer assessments by approximately 50%, removing a large cost burden off of residents.
