The Community Services Department schedules bus trips for adults and seniors to exciting and interesting destinations throughout the region. The scheduled trip is listed below. Tech Time for Seniors

Need help setting up your cell phone, tablet or electronic device? Want to set up a Facebook account or learn how to text? Can’t figure out how to download pictures from your camera or cell phone?
Come to the Yucca Valley Community Center for help! A team of tech-savvy staff from the Yucca Valley Recreation Department will be available to answer your questions and assist you with your technology needs! No appointment necessary, this service is available to seniors on a first come, first served basis.

Writing Workshop: Think Like a Writer!
Working on a novel or memoir? Have an idea for a children’s book or facing a big writing assignment? Novelist and playwright Virginia Mekkelson, author of “The Sunset Bar”, “Peach Blossom River”, “The Losers Club”, and many other works will instruct a weekly writing workshop at the Yucca Valley Community Center. This workshop welcomes all writers, at all experience levels, and all projects; fiction or non-fiction. Participants are able to bring in their work for feedback, discussion and help with writing problems. Mekkelson will review writing techniques and the ideas and principles of writing.
Ages: 14 and over
Cost: $3 per class/pay at the door / drop–in
Day: Wednesdays (beginning Oct 4th)
Time: 9:00 – 10:30 am

Sing Along & Ice Cream Social
Join veteran pro keyboard wizard Cat Cohen as he performs hits from the 40s through the 80s.

Petersen Automotive Museum & Original Philippe’s French Dip
Saturday, March 24, 2018

Registration Deadline: March 13, 2018
Times: Depart - 9:00 a.m. Return - 7:00 p.m.
Start the day off in downtown LA for lunch at the Original Philippe’s French Dip with a
choice of dipped beef, pork, lamb turkey or ham sandwich with sides, a drink and dessert.
Next is the Petersen Automotive Museum, featuring exhibits dedicated to the history of the automobile. The museum features 3 themed floors of exhibits. The exhibit galleries feature various types of vehicles along with a Discovery Center interactive exhibit. “The Highlights” tour starts at 1:00 p.m. and includes a 1-hour docent led tour, then time on your own to browse.
Cost: $85.00 per person
Price includes: lunch with dessert & gratuity, museum admission and motor coach
